2 c self-rising flour
1/3 cup vegetable shortening
1 c extra sharp shredded cheddar
Combine flour & shortening with pastry blender. Stir in cheese. Add buttermilk & blend until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface & knead four times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness & cut with small biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees 8 to 10 minutes.
